About Us

Yarns ’n Stitch is made by four grandmas in Dale, Norway; Ingrid, Eli, Helga, and Liv.

They have known each other since their twenties, when they worked together in the same small carpet-making company. Even as the years passed, they stayed close. Every Sunday, they would meet at home to knit lovely things for their families. Just a joyful time together, filled with yarn, nostalgic conversations, and warm cups of tea.

One day, they made one bag too many.

They gave it away but the person insisted on paying. Then others asked for one too. People loved the bags, and that’s when the idea came: maybe they could make them for others as well.

Soon, the Sunday knitting became more frequent, and the grandmas happily began handcrafting bags for anyone who wanted one.

This year marks their 40th anniversary of making textile handcrafts, and it felt like the perfect time to share their work beyond Dale. With encouragement from the town and the help of a supportive neighbor and recurring customer, Anne, they launched their online store.

Every Yarns ’n Stitch bag is still made the same way it always has been:

slowly, by hand, at home, with care, tradition, and love.
