How We Made It

How We Make Our Bags

1) We choose the right yarn (and the right feel)

We start by picking the fiber, color, and thickness for the style of bag—soft cotton for everyday totes, sturdy cord for structured shapes, raffia-style yarn for beachy weaves, or chunky yarn for plush statement pieces.

2) We plan the shape and size

Each bag begins with a simple plan: handle length, width, depth, and how it should sit on the shoulder. Some designs start with a round base, some with a flat panel, and others with a woven “shell.”

3) We build the base

This is the foundation that decides how strong the bag will be.

  • Crochet bags: stitched in rounds or rows for a firm bottom

  • Knit bags: worked tightly to help it hold shape

  • Woven styles: formed with steady tension for a strong frame

4) We create the body—slowly, stitch by stitch

This is the long, cozy part. We work the main body with careful tension so it’s even and durable. If the bag has patterns (like granny squares or sunburst designs), each piece is made separately and then joined neatly.

5) We add the special details

This is where each bag becomes its own.
Flowers, colorwork, textured stitches, braided handles, straps, edging, closures—every detail is added by hand and adjusted until it looks “just right.”

6) We strengthen and finish the edges

We reinforce stress points (like strap corners and openings), weave in ends securely, and smooth the shape. For some bags, we add lining or structure so it keeps its form and feels good to use.

7) We check it like it’s for our own family

We do a final look-over: even stitches, strong handles, clean seams, tidy finishing, and a good “hold.” If it doesn’t feel right, we fix it.

8) We pack it carefully and send it on its way

Each bag is gently prepared, folded with care, and packed so it arrives ready to be loved—made slowly, and meant to last.
